Support Information

My logon doesn't seem to work?
A few things to check before contacting us.

  • Are you using your complete email address as your logon?  This includes all the information before and after the "@" symbol in your email address.  For example, "myname@yourdomain.com" could be a complete email address. Simply using "myname" as your logon will not work.

  • Did you subscribe?  Valid subscribers will have received confirmation via return email when their account is active.

  • Are you using the correct Password/PIN?  Request the PIN be emailed to your email address on record by clicking on "Forget your PIN?"

What's PDF?
PDF stands for Portable Document Format, a standard for document delivery developed by Adobetm.  You can read more about this format at  :
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

I really don't want to subscribe.  Can I purchase individual articles?
Yes, you are able to order and purchase individual articles online.  On each abstract page, note the button on the right side of the window. Click to add the particular document to the shopping cart.  To finish the order and check out, click on CART near the top right corner of the screen.  The documents will be returned to you via email in a PDF attachment.

When I open the article, the text is all garbled. Why?
There could be two reasons:

  1. Either you have not installed the free Adobe Acrobat Reader or

  2. Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed but the file associations on your computer for .PDF files have been assigned to another application.

In the support issues we've encountered, users simply have not installed the Acrobat Reader software on their computer.

All JVSR articles are PDF files, Portable Document Format Files, a format designed by Adobe Systems for portability across operating systems and allowing PDF files to be printed on virtually any printer. PDF files require Adobe's Acrobat Reader to view and print. JVSR staff create the PDF versions of JVSR articles using Adobe Acrobat software.

When users click on a JVSR article, your computer tries to open the file based on the file extension (.PDF). For PDF files that means Adobe Acrobat Reader and the article will open in another browser window. (If you have not logged into JVSR, you will be prompted for your logon/password the very first time you access a "Full Subscriber Article".).

If Acrobat Reader is not installed or the association between Acrobat Reader and the .PDF file extension is missing or changed, you may encounter an "Open with" dialog box as shown here.

If Acrobat Reader is installed but the article opens in another application such as a word processor (MS Word, for example), it's a sure sign that the association between PDF files and Acrobat Reader on your computer was changed.  PDF files opening in a word processor will be unreadable and some users have described it as "junk" or "garbled text" when they're contacted support.  The change in the file associations may have been made inadvertently by you, by another user of your computer or even by a software application you may have installed.

Solution: Install or re-install the Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer by visiting the www.jvsr.com support page and selecting the "Get Acrobat Reader" icon in the third column of the support page. The link will take you to the Adobe Acrobat website where you may download the FREE Reader and install it on your computer.

Send Millennium Data and Graphics

Here area two procedures for creating very high-resolution graphics from Insight Millennium scans sent by doctors.

The document "Sending Patient Data" is a procedure for a Doctor to send scans for a patient. The other document is a procedure for what to do with these scans; how you get them out of the software and increase the resolution to the appropriate level.

Pop-up Windows

This Web site utilizes pop-up windows. If you use a pop-up blocker, you can still trade and access most site features. However, in order to view all information on the site-including most forms and lookup results for symbols and quotes-you must disable your pop-up blocker.

For example, if you use Internet Explorer 6, the built-in pop-up blocker is turned on by default but can easily be disabled for a trusted site. When you see a notification in the status bar that a pop-up was blocked, simply click this notification, then choose Allow pop-up windows from this site.

Many of the subscriber documents located on JVSR require the FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your local computer.
