Dr. Madeline Behrendt Named an Associate Editor of JVSR

Dr. Madeline Behrendt, an author and speaker committed to connecting women to chiropractic and chiropractors to women has accepted a position as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research. Dr. Behrendt is Chair of the Council on Women’s Health of the World Chiropractic Alliance and has contributed to numerous print and electronic chiropractic publications, including the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research, The Chiropractic Journal, and www.planetchiropractic.com . In addition, Dr. Behrendt was part of a chiropractic panel that presented at the United Nations Conference on Women in 2001, and has appeared on WebMd.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Behrendt involved with JVSR.com for so many reasons. Her work in developing cases that document the impact of subluxation correction in women's health is an extremely important aspect of chiropractic research, education and politics” stated JVSR Editor Dr. Matthew McCoy.

Dr. Behrendt is currently working on and/or assisting other chiropractors on several projects devoted to women’s health and sociological aspects of chiropractic. Some of these projects include:

  • The Impact of Subluxation Correction in Mental Health
  • The Impact of Chiropractic on Battered Women
  • Chiropractic and Infertility
  • Chiropractic's Impact on Social Health
  • Chiropractic and the Homeless
  • Chiropractic at Ground Zero
  • Battered Women/Intimate Partner Violence and Chiropractic
  • Chiropractic Missionary Work
  • Survey on Women's Health
  • The Establishment of a Research Award for Subluxation-based Chiropractic Researchers

At the recent WCA Summit in Washington D.C. several members of the Council on Women’s Health committed to writing and submitting case studies on women’s health issues and Dr. Behrendt is helping to organize this along with Council Vice Chair Dr. Leslie Bedell.

According to JVSR Publisher Dr. Terry Rondberg “Dr. Behrendt is another perfect example of how much impact one person can have in our profession. We have so many voids to fill in terms of research and along comes someone willing to work to get it done.” Dr. Behrendt joins Dr. Mark Filippi, Dr. Dean Smith, Dr. Marcia Lancaster and Richard Pistolese who are also serving as Associate Editors of JVSR.
