The Role and Relationship of Chiropractic and Women's Health Issues - A Call for Research
[October 2000, Vol 4, No. 1]
Madeline Behrendt, D.C. Bio
Abstract

This Commentary discusses the importance of recognizing and documenting the influence of vertebral subluxation and the results of it’s correction and reduction on women’s health. The discussion explores several themes including the active participation of women in health care, the gender gap that exists in research and an overview of the allopathic approach towards women’s concerns. I will review chiropractic and medical influence with regard to menopause and bone health and the application of subluxation-based chiropractic guidelines to women’s health. To promote access for all women to complete health care, including subluxation analysis, reduction and correction, this article closes with a call for papers. Papers which reflect the response in women’s lives and health when care is directed at subluxation correction.
